Reflection Paper: The Power of Technology
In the class, the teacher showed us two videos. The first video advertised the impact of IBM technologies. IBM stands for International Business Machines. The Computing-Tabulating-Recording Company, the precursor to IBM, was founded on June 16, 1911 by the financier, Charles Flint. It was around this era that new advances emerged and the need for recording and storing information was highly needed. This led to new discoveries under IBM. As time progressed, so did new technologies. The video time lapsed these discoveries. The next video then later on talked about the earliest "computers" or recorders. People had to find ways in how to record data and how to use these data strategically.
Technology has been a powerful instrument in progress. If not, it is because of technology that we have progressed in this world. Especially in this era, one can only imagine where technology can take us. Information from our computers and our gadgets are unfathomable. One can only imagine how we can use this instrument to better our future.
